Just over a week following the announcement of his filing for divorce from Erica Stoll, whom he had been married to for seven years on May 13th, Rory McIlroy and CBS reporter Amanda Balionis are generating attention within the PGA Tour.
According to The Daily Mail, the close relationship between the Northern Irishman and sports broadcaster has sparked conversations amongst those on the PGA Tour who have dubbed them āthe talk of the links.ā
In 2022, after marrying former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner, Balionis conducted an interview with McIlroy following his victory at the Wells Fargo Championship held on May 12th at Quail Hollow golf course in Charlotte.
Balionis brought up McIlroyās mother, Rosie, on Motherās Day and asked him to share a message with her. The pair appeared very joyful during this conversation despite the fact that he was about to file for divorce from Stoll in Florida just one day later.
In the PGA Zurich Classic held in New Orleans in April, McIlroy recorded a promotional feature for Balionisā charitable foundation known as Puppies & Golf. The organization works towards safeguarding and supporting dogs by functioning as a communal asset that provides financial aid to families, shelters and rescue groups while also helping military veterans with trained service animals rescued from organizations dedicated to this cause.
