Preview Saudi Arabia Darts Masters final night: Van Veen-Littler and Price-Humphries lead Quarter-Finals as champion crowned

Today marks the final evening of the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters 2026, featuring the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship match. Of the eight top PDC players, seven advanced past the first round, with Danny Noppert being the only one eliminated.

 

This tournament is the second event of the World Series of Darts 2026, following the Bahrain Darts Masters last week, where Michael van Gerwen claimed the title. He now aims to secure a second consecutive victory to kick off the new season. Van Gerwen, who won his opening match against Nitin Kumar 6-1, must first contend with Stephen Bunting. Other contenders still in the mix include Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, and Gerwyn Price.

 

The quarterfinals will be played to six legs, the semifinals to seven, and the final to eight.

 

Michael van Gerwen vs. Stephen Bunting

The evening begins with Michael van Gerwen facing Stephen Bunting. Van Gerwen, fresh off his success at the Bahrain Darts Masters, didn’t need to reach his peak performance to beat Nitin Kumar comfortably. However, against Bunting, who also won his first match 6-1 against Tomoya Goto, he may need to elevate his game. The two are well-acquainted, known for their scoring prowess. Bunting, facing scrutiny over his Premier League selection, aims to impress and silence critics with a strong showing at this event.

 

Nathan Aspinall vs. Man Lok Leung

Next, Nathan Aspinall, who was left out of this year’s Premier League Darts, steps onto the stage. He had a straightforward victory over Lourence Ilagan in his opener, marking their third recent matchup, all won by Aspinall. He faces Man Lok Leung in the quarterfinals, with Leung having upset Danny Noppert 6-3 in the first round. Leung’s experience in major events makes him a formidable opponent, and it remains to be seen if he can pull off another surprise.

 

Gian van Veen vs. Luke Littler

Gian van Veen will then take on Luke Littler in a rematch of this month’s World Championship final, where Van Veen lost 7-1. He began the tournament strong with a 6-2 win over Motomu Sakai. To reach the finals of the World Series of Darts for a second time, he must first overcome Littler, who, despite a lackluster performance against Paul Lim, aims to rebound after ending his impressive 21-match winning streak in televised tournaments.

 

Gerwyn Price vs. Luke Humphries

The final quarterfinal features Gerwyn Price against Luke Humphries. Price faced Littler in the Bahrain Darts Masters quarterfinals and lost to Van Gerwen afterwards, partially due to a lack of practice following an early World Championship exit. In this event, Price achieved a strong performance with a 100+ average, easily defeating Alexis Toylo. Humphries also had a solid start, winning 6-2 against Ryusei Azemoto. He is eager for another title after disappointments in recent quarterfinals at both the World Darts Championship and the Bahrain Darts Masters, which do not reflect his talent.
