Jason Day Withdraws From Truist Championship.

The 2018 winner has withdrawn prior to the Truist Championship, with the reason for Day’s withdrawal reportedly down to a herniated disc in his neck.

The Truist Championship gets underway on Thursday 8th May and, just 48 hours prior to the first tee shot, one of its former champions has withdrawn from the event.

Jason Day, who claimed the title in 2018 by two strokes, will not feature in the tournament, with it announced on Tuesday morning that he had withdrawn due to a herniated disc in his neck.

Patrick Rodgers initially stepped in to replace Day, but after Rodgers also withdrew, Chez Reavie took his place.

This isn’t Day’s first withdrawal of 2025. He has been in good form this season, recording five top-30 finishes in nine starts.

At The Players Championship, the PGA Tour’s flagship event, Day withdrew before his opening round due to illness but returned two weeks later at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Although he’s withdrawn again, reports indicate that Day is optimistic about returning for next week’s PGA Championship, the year’s second men’s Major.

Day, a former PGA Championship winner, will be aiming to compete at Quail Hollow Club—the usual venue for this week’s Truist Championship, which is being held at Philadelphia Cricket Club instead this year.
