Take Two, the parent company of 2K Sports, is worth $31.37 billion per Forbes. 2K Sports announced today that Woods would grace the cover of the game’s special edition. It’s something they’ve done with other games as well.
NBA 2K has had alternate covers in the last few years, and they’ve had Legend Editions as well. Dwyane Wade was on NBA 2K20’s Legend Edition cover. Kobe Bryant manned the 2K21 Legend cover. Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Jordan have also been featured
.2K knows the impact that these historic figures had on the game, and they’re taking advantage of that with the alternate cover art. Ironically, Woods was the cover athlete for the normal edition of PGA Tour 2K23.
