Rob Cross, nicknamed “Voltage,” is an English professional darts player who made a remarkable ascent in the sport. Born on September 21, 1990, in Pembury, Kent, Cross began playing darts at 15 but initially pursued a career as an electrician. His transition to professional darts was swift; after competing as an amateur in the 2016 UK Open, he dominated the PDC Challenge Tour, earning a two-year tour card for 2017–2018.

In his debut professional year, Cross achieved a stunning victory at the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship, defeating the legendary Phil Taylor 7–2 in the final.  This victory marked one of the most impressive debut seasons in darts history. He continued his success by winning the World Matchplay and European Championship in 2019, and secured another European Championship title in 2021.

As of 2025, Cross holds a world ranking of fifth and has amassed over £1.5 million in career earnings.  His journey from electrician to world champion within 18 months serves as an inspiring narrative in professional sports.
