šāITāS USELESS ā I canāt do anything for myself.ā Jon Rahm reveals why he wonāt have any wins in 2025.
Jon Rahm is under a lot of pressure heading into this yearās PGA Championship. The Spaniardās winless streak continues after his fourth-place finish at the LIV Mexico
The 30-year-old used to be one of golfās brightest stars, having previously won both the Masters and the US Open.
Rahm is one of many LIV players struggling to find form, and concerns continue to grow as LIVās best prepare to arrive at Quail Hollow for the 2025 PGA Championship
However, unless Rahm can regain his waning golfing ability, it seems highly unlikely he will be able to compete in the second major of the season.
Jon Rahm attributes too many mistakes to lack of form
Speaking ahead of LIV Golf Korea, Rahm revealed he needs to make some major changes if he wants to return to the top of world golf.
āIām just not doing everything I need to do right. Sometimes you need a little luck on your side, and itās not like I havenāt had it,ā Rahm told reporters
I just havenāt done myself any favors on the golf course, Iāll put it that way,ā he added.
Rahm has consistently finished on top this year, but so far hasnāt been able to turn his constant contention into a victory.
āWhile I like being in the top 10 and I like being a good player week after week, winning is obviously what matters most,ā he said.
I would gladly give up some of those top ten spots in exchange for more wins.
āIām still playing well, still getting close enough, but Iāve made enough mistakes from time to time that Iām not close enough heading into the back nine on Sunday.ā
Rahm remains a favorite among LIV golf fans, even though he hasnāt won this season.
However, the Spaniard has yet to finish outside the top 10 since making the jump to LIV. His consistent performance will make him a strong favorite heading into this yearās PGA Championship in May.
Rahmās tongue-in-cheek response to a reporter at the LIV golf press conference
Speaking during the post-round press conference at Mexico Cityās LIV, he had a sharp response to criticism surrounding the lack of smiles between Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton during their final round.
āIād say you might not see it on the broadcast, but honestly, both Tyrrell and I smile a lot more than we think we do. Honestly, if we make a couple of mistakes on a couple of bad holes, thereās no reason to be happy,ā Rahm said.
But I vividly remember three or four moments when we laughed. Maybe it was because of something funny we did, some bad luck on the golf course, whatever, but there are definitely stretches of golf where you get a little more frustrated. You donāt have to do much wrong here for something to go wrong. Itās a tricky golf course.
Despite his apparent seriousness, Rahm couldnāt unseat JoaquĆn Niemann. Niemann shot a final round of 65 to secure a three-shot lead over Lucas Herbert and Bryson DeChambeau, tied for second.
LIV will then head to South Korea, with LIV Korea taking place from May 2nd to 4th.
