While Tiger Woods’ golf legacy is firmly cemented in history, it’s his children who are beginning to capture attention in their own right. His son, Charlie Woods, has been making waves in junior golf, but it’s his daughter, Sam, who is charting a unique path-one that’s far removed from the fairways.

 

While Sam has often been spotted cheering for her dad or caddying at tournaments, she’s not following in his golfing footsteps. Instead, Sam has turned her focus to soccer and track and field, establishing herself as a standout athlete at Benjamin High School.

 

 

This year, Sam Woods is taking on the challenge of being a dual-sport athlete. As part of the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team, she’s been contributing to her school’s efforts as they prepare to face King’s Academy. But she isn’t just sticking to soccer-back in August 2024, Sam expanded her athletic horizons by diving into track and field, proving her versatility.

 

Her track achievements speak for themselves. Sam was named Player of the Year by the Palm Beach Post in Track and Field Junior. Additionally, she helped her school’s 4×400 relay team finish third with a time of 3:59.95. Her impressive 400m hurdles time of 1:05.84 earned her seventh place, and she has also notched top-five finishes at district meets, with two district championships to her name.

 

Despite the demands of being a dual-sport athlete, Sam’s soccer career has been equally impressive. Over the course of 55 games, she’s scored 8 goals and provided 12 assists. In the current 2024-2025 season, she has already contributed with 1 goal and 1 assist in just 8 games.
